Sherri Gonzales

Senior Vice President of Business Development

Sherri Gonzales is a mission‑driven executive with more than 20 years of experience advancing community‑based strategies that strengthen children, families, and communities across Florida. Throughout her tenure with Children’s Home Society of Florida (CHS), she has focused on aligning systems, partners, and resources to expand opportunity for children from cradle to career.

As Senior Vice President, Sherri provides strategic leadership to Executive Directors statewide, guiding external affairs, business development, and growth priorities that support CHS’s long‑term sustainability and impact. She partners closely with executive and finance leadership on statewide initiatives and stewardship of the external affairs portfolio, strengthening alignment across fundraising, advocacy, and community partnerships.

Previously, Sherri served as Executive Director of one of CHS’s largest regions, leading integrated cradle‑to‑career services across four counties, including behavioral health, early childhood education, child welfare, family strengthening programs, and five Community Partnership
Schools™.

Earlier in her career, Sherri held leadership roles with the Florida Department of Children and Families, the Ruth Cooper Center, and First Step Inc. She serves on a local Managing Entity Governance Board for Substance Abuse and Mental Health.

Sherri holds a master’s degree in psychology and counseling from Troy State University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of South Florida.
