Child Protection Team

Our multidisciplinary team works with child protective services and law enforcement to keep children safe and guide investigations when abuse or neglect is suspected.

Who Qualifies:

  • Children referred by child protective services or law enforcement due to safety concerns.

Purpose:

  • Conduct interviews and evaluations in a safe environment.
  • Support legal and protective processes while prioritizing child safety.

Children’s Advocacy Centers

Children’s Advocacy Centers provide a safe, supportive environment where children who have experienced abuse or neglect can share their stories and begin healing. The centers offer counseling, medical care, and crisis intervention in a child-friendly setting.

Who Qualifies:

  • Children who have experienced abuse or neglect and their families.

Purpose:

  • Ensure children’s safety and emotional well-being while coordinating with local officials.
  • Provide compassionate counseling, forensic interviews, and medical support.
  • Help children and families access the resources they need to begin their recovery and build a path toward healing.

Counseling

CHS Counseling provides professional mental health support for children, teens, adults, and families facing emotional, behavioral, or life challenges. Licensed counselors work with clients in flexible settings to address concerns and strengthen coping strategies.

Who Qualifies:

  • Children, teens, adults, and families experiencing mental health or life challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, family conflict, grief, or behavioral concerns.
  • Services are available through in-person, school-based, or telehealth appointments, depending on location and program availability.

Purpose:

  • Provide therapeutic support to address mental health and family challenges.
  • Strengthen coping skills, family relationships, and emotional well-being.
  • Connect clients with additional resources when needed, including telepsychiatry for medication management and crisis response services where available.

Healthy Families

Healthy Families is a voluntary, home‑based family support and coaching program that helps expectant parents and families of newborns build strong, nurturing foundations during the early childhood years. It’s part of the statewide Healthy Families Florida network and designed to promote positive parent‑child relationships and healthy development.

Who Qualifies:

  • Families with a prenatal referral or a newborn less than about three months old.
  • Families referred by partner agencies who would benefit from in‑home support and connection with community resources.

Who qualifies?

  • Provide supportive home visiting to strengthen parenting skills and engagement.
  • Connect families to community services and help them set and achieve family goals.
  • Support child development and help create safe, stable home environments.

Targeted Case Management

Targeted Case Management supports children with diagnosed mental health challenges and helps families navigate complex behavioral and emotional support systems. We coordinate services and connect families to community resources to promote stability at home and school.

Who Qualifies:

  • Children ages 0–17 with:
  • Behavioral or emotional difficulties at home and/or school, or
  • A mental health diagnosis that is not a developmental challenge, or
  • Destructive behaviors that could result in self-harm or harm to others.

Purpose:

  • Assess needs and develop personalized support plans for children and families.
  • Equip families to advocate for mental health needs and manage challenging behaviors.
  • Connect children and families with counseling, behavioral therapy, evaluations, mentoring, and ongoing medical support.
  • Promote safe, stable environments so children can remain successfully at home and in school when appropriate.
