Children’s Home Society of Florida honors Senator Book for her commitment to Florida kids
Children’s Home Society of Florida (CHS), the state’s largest provider of services to children and families, has named Senator Lauren Book 2021 Senator of the Year for her commitment to strengthen the child welfare system and improve lifetime outcomes for children.
During the 2021 Legislative Session, Senator Book — leading the Children, Families and Elder Affairs Committee — took a hands-on approach to addressing the important and complex challenges of the state’s child welfare system. Senator Book listened to Children’s Home Society of Florida leaders and frontline professionals to better understand the workforce behind creating a stable and sustainable future for vulnerable children throughout Florida.
“Senator Book’s passion to do good for children is evident in her work to build a bright future for Florida’s child welfare system,” said Andry Sweet, CEO & President of Children’s Home Society of Florida. “She has opened a door to create more positive changes in public policy and we look forward to the 2022 legislative session to further the progress made this year. Thank you Senator Book for all you do for Florida’s children.”
