Children’s Home Society of Florida honors Senator Book for her commitment to Florida kids

Children’s Home Society of Florida (CHS), the state’s largest provider of services to children and families, has named Senator Lauren Book 2021 Senator of the Year for her commitment to strengthen the child welfare system and improve lifetime outcomes for children.

During the 2021 Legislative Session, Senator Book — leading the Children, Families and Elder Affairs Committee — took a hands-on approach to addressing the important and complex challenges of the state’s child welfare system. Senator Book listened to Children’s Home Society of Florida leaders and frontline professionals to better understand the workforce behind creating a stable and sustainable future for vulnerable children throughout Florida.
