CHS Appoints New Regional Executive Director Dennis Miles in Southeast Florida

Orlando, Fla. (November 26, 2024)Children’s Home Society of Florida has appointed Dennis Miles as the new Regional Executive Director of Greater Palm Beach, Treasure Coast and Broward County. As Dennis transitions into his new role, CHS is confident that his vast experience and determination to do GOOD will be instrumental in strengthening our impact in the region.

Dennis has over 20 years of combined experience in leadership positions and team building within the U.S. Marine Corps and the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF). At DCF, Dennis led all operations across four major business lines for the Southeast region, leading teams with over 1,000 employees across six counties in South Florida. Through motivational techniques, Dennis has a reputation of accomplishing impactful missions while raising the bar for client expectations. Under his leadership, Dennis broke down obstacles and accomplished internal goals to maintain budgetary controls and improve agency performance.

We know Dennis will bring a new level of transformation to our work and I look forward to the GOOD he will accomplish in this new role.”

Dennis enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1977 rising to the rank of Sergeant before becoming a commissioned officer in 1985. As an officer, he served as a Platoon Commander, Company Executive Officer, and Company Commander in the 3rd Assault Amphibious Battalion, 1st Marine Division.

A proud Gator, Dennis received his B.A. in Political Science and Government from the University of Florida. He also received the Certified Public Manager (CPM) designation at Florida State University.

Dennis was the Head Girls Basketball Coach at Cardinal Newman HS for 10 years, building a championship program that won multiple district championships and the only regional championship in school history. He also was named the Palm Beach County Coach of the Year in 2015.
