“What will we do with the kids all day?” It’s a question many parents are asking as families across the country are staying home from work and school. Here is a list of activities parents and children can do together:

  • Board and card games
  • Outdoor scavenger hunts or the alphabet game for items commonly found around your yard or neighborhood
  • Cooking meals together
  • Letting younger kids who love water play wash their plastic toys in a large bin or the bathtub

Scholastic also offers daily projects online for kids of all ages (pre-K and Kindergarten, grades 1-2, 3-5, and 6+) to keep children reading, thinking and growing during self-quarantine. Examples include learning about animal babies and how emojis are made to stories about a domino art designer and sloths who that play sports.
