Before the age of 4, Valerie experienced brief periods of homelessness as she and her parents moved from motel to motel. While her mom and dad dreamed of a better future for their young daughter, they had difficulty making ends meet. Times were hard.

Then they found Children’s Home Society of Florida’s Early Head Start program.

Early Head Start (EHS) serves families from pregnancy to age 3, and provides comprehensive services to support and strengthen relationships between infants, toddlers and their parents.

Since joining the program, Valerie’s family is thriving. Her dad found a new job earning twice his former salary and her mom received her citizenship and found a job outside the home. Next month, they’ll be moving into a more permanent home where Valerie will have her own room.

Thanks to the support of our donors and the guidance provided through Early Head Start, the future of Valerie’s family has never looked brighter!
