Tampa, Fla. — Mort Elementary, A Community Partnership School, was awarded $10,000 from Aetna to support its All Pro Dad initiative. This program provides fathers with valuable resources, training and events to help them raise their children for a healthier, brighter future.
Funds will have a significant impact, benefiting up to 60 Mort students and enable the program to engage twenty fathers through ten events before September 2025, fostering deeper involvement from dads and father-figures in their children’s education.
This initiative aligns with Children’s Home Society of Florida’s (CHS) strategic direction of meeting families where they already work, live, play and learn – an approach that includes expanding Family Resource Centers and preventative services to keep families strong from the start. As a key partner in 37+ Community Partnership Schools statewide, CHS reaches more than 50,000 students annually through its innovative, whole-family CPS model.
Funds from Aetna will also help launch a new All Pro Dad chapter within Miami’s Caribbean K-8, A Community Partnership School, while also enhancing another current program at Orlando’s OCPS Academic Center For Excellence, A Community Partnership School.
“Parental involvement in a child’s education leads to better academic performance and success in life. Because of this grant and strong partners like Aetna and All Pro Dads, we are creating pathways to greater well-being and economic mobility for this generation and the next,” said Andry Sweet, Children’s Home Society of Florida President and CEO.
To celebrate this contribution, a check presentation took place at Mort Elementary on March 24.
