Though Gina’s violent relationship was putting her child’s safety at risk, she feared that leaving her abuser would put them all in grave danger.  Because she stayed in the home, she was viewed as the perpetrator and was at risk of permanently losing her son.

With the support, diligence and advocacy of her Partners 4 Safe Families team, both the child welfare system and the courts saw her as a survivor – not a perpetrator – giving her a chance to receive necessary counseling and support to work toward reunification with her son.

Through the Partners 4 Safe Families Domestic Violence Program survivors – like Gina – can access the services and support needed to protect themselves and keep their families together. Click here to learn more about the program.
