What is telehealth?

It’s a simple, convenient, secure way to receive high-quality therapy. CHS offers two types of telehealth: counseling and psychiatry. Both give you control of your care, and you can receive services when and where you’re most comfortable

When you participate in online counseling, you receive confidential care, support and top-notch service with an experienced counselor – wherever you are: at home, the office, your child’s school, on vacation or any other location with a data connection, WiFi or Internet access.

What do I need to participate in online counseling services?

A computer, tablet or smartphone with a video camera, and an internet or data connection. Simply go to our online counseling website to log in for your appointment. CHS will provide you with free access to a secure, HIPAA-compliant virtual waiting room and client session.

To maintain confidentiality, we also advise finding a private, quiet place for your appointment.

Is telehealth secure?

Yes. CHS uses only HIPAA-compliant video-conferencing software for tele-counseling and tele-psychiatry. This specialized software provides end-to-end data encryption so only individuals involved in the appointment can view the appointment.

How much does an online counseling session cost?

CHS accepts most major insurances as well as Medicaid. Your out-of-pocket costs will be determined based on your coverage plan. We also accept private pay, and we can discuss fees when you call us.

What insurance can I use to receive online counseling?

We accept most major insurances as well as Medicaid. Please call CHS at 888-SEEME03 (888-733-6303) or your insurance company to confirm.

What are the hours available for appointments?

Our counselors are flexible. Most are available Monday through Friday during the daytime hours, with the flexibility to accommodate evenings and, in some instances, weekends.

How long is the turnaround time for scheduling an appointment?

This can fluctuate based on current client volume, but we are typically able to have an appointment available within three (3) business days.

Is my counseling session recorded? And can anyone else see or access the session?

No. Online counseling sessions are not recorded or stored. Your confidentiality is of the utmost importance to us. Just like traditional in-office counseling, the content of the counseling session stays between the client and the counselor, unless there are legal reasons for disclosing anything, such as an indication that the client is an immediate danger to themselves or others.

How do I schedule an appointment?

You can schedule an appointment over the phone by calling 888-SEEME03 (888-733-6303) or submitting a referral form here.

What do I do if I’m having a crisis and need to speak to someone immediately?

If you are in crisis, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (8255) or call 9-1-1.

Can I choose my counselor?

Yes.

Do you offer counseling in languages other than English? If so, which languages?

Yes. Based on availability, we also have counselors who speak Spanish, Haitian Creole and Chinese.

I have more questions. Who can I contact?

Please contact us at 888-SEEME03 (888-733-6303) for telehealth-specific questions.
