Providing opportunities and support for change

Hope is not lost – you can change your life trajectory. Whether you have received a Civil Citation from law enforcement or have been arrested, the DJJ Prevention Program is here to help. Our DJJ Prevention Program provides kids and young adults involved with the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) with support, guidance, and access to tools and resources to help prevent further involvement with the DJJ.

Who Qualifies?

  • Youth ages 9 to 18 may participate in the DJJ Prevention Program.
  • Youth who have been given either:
    • A Civil Citation by law enforcement for misdemeanor charges in lieu of being processed through the judicial system
    • or An diversion opportunity diversion for being arrested and offered a chance with alternative sanctions.

What to expect?

  • You will have the opportunity to participate in a 12 or 16-week program. During your time within this program you will partake in
    • Assessments
    • Individualized Service Plan
    • Evidenced Based Life Skills groups
    • Community Service
  • Each of these must be completed and will help to prevent judicial processing and further involvement with the Department of Juvenile Justice.
