The Kentucky Derby is synonymous with endurance, excellence, and the celebration of potential—values that resonate deeply with CHS’s mission. Our inaugural “Be A Champion” Derby Celebration draws inspiration from this esteemed event, symbolizing the race toward a brighter future for Florida’s children and families.
Just as the Derby showcases the culmination of dedication and support, our celebration highlights the collective effort required to overcome obstacles and emerge as empower children to be winners in their own lives. For nearly 125 years, Children’s Home Society of Florida (CHS) has evolved to meet the changing needs of children and families. What began with a focus on foster care and adoption has grown into a bold, statewide movement to address root causes of poverty and expand opportunity. Today, through our cradle-to-career Community Impact Model, we’re reimagining what “home” means — and building brighter futures for children and families across Florida. No matter their ZIP code.
CHS serves over 50,000 individuals statewide, including more than 5,000 children and families across Miami-Dade. This event contributes directly to early childhood, programs, Community Partnership Schools, Healthy Families, and family stabilization programs.
