On June 19, the CHS Redefining Legacy fundraiser brought together community leaders, advocates, and supporters in Indian Harbour Beach for an inspiring evening hosted by the Mitra family. The event celebrated the power of youth leadership and the lasting impact of community investment, and at the heart of it was a young woman whose commitment to service is already leaving a powerful legacy.

Among the evening’s most moving moments was the recognition of Suhina Mitra, a recent graduate of West Shore Jr./Sr. High School and the very first CHS Youth Ambassador . In this pioneering role, Suhina has gone above and beyond to uplift her peers and support younger students across Brevard County. Through her efforts, she’s helped drive critical support to Cocoa’s Endeavour Elementary, A Community Partnership School, and has played a key role in raising more than $30,000 for CHS programs that benefit children and families throughout Brevard County.

Her leadership speaks directly to our mission throughout the Space Coast community, including Early Head Start which builds strong foundations for little learners, to integrated behavioral health care, family counseling, and workforce readiness services that help young people thrive as adults.

Sunina Mitra was recognized on the floor of the US House of Representatives by Rep. Mike Haridopolos on June 26.

The Redefining Legacy fundraiser wasn’t just about raising funds … it was about raising hope. It spotlighted what’s possible when a community comes together to invest in the next generation, and when young people like Suhina lead with compassion, vision, and purpose.

As CHS continues to innovate and expand support across Brevard and beyond, events like these remind us that legacies aren’t only written over a lifetime, they can be redefined at any age.
