Orlando, Fla. – September 26, 2025 – Children’s Home Society of Florida (CHS) proudly recognizes Rebecca Hughes for her dedicated service on its State Board of Directors. This is a powerful, full-circle journey as she was adopted through CHS as a child. With extensive expertise in data analytics, IT governance, risk management, and cybersecurity, Hughes continues to strengthen CHS’s ability to navigate complex operational and technological landscapes while driving its mission to create brighter futures for Florida’s children and families.

With over a decade of experience at the intersection of IT governance, risk, and compliance (GRC), Hughes has built a reputation for identifying systemic inefficiencies and implementing innovative, risk-informed solutions that enhance organizational resilience and regulatory alignment. In her current role at VyStar Credit Union, she leads the development and execution of a comprehensive IT GRC program and oversees Security Awareness and Training initiatives, using evidence-based methods to reduce human risk and drive behavioral change.

Hughes holds a Master’s in Forensic Psychology from Arizona State University, providing a unique foundation to integrate behavioral insights into cybersecurity strategies. Her focus on the human element of risk underscores the importance of understanding user behavior in building adaptive, robust security frameworks.

Rebecca Hughes’ story is one of many that CHS helps make possible, demonstrating that with the right support, children and families across Florida can overcome adversity and thrive.
