What does a relentless commitment to excellence mean?

It means never settling. It means working harder, working smarter. It means being a leader in delivering only high-quality solutions that impact the lives and futures of children and families.

At CHS, we don’t just talk the talk – we walk the walk. Every day. And we’re recognized for it by the source on excellence: the Council on Accreditation (COA).

This year, Children’s Home Society of Florida again received reaccreditation for all of our programs and sites by COA, continuing a 35-year legacy of full accreditation by COA.

But that’s not all. Because of our exceptionally high performance, CHS now holds a distinction awarded to less than one-fifth of more than 2,200 COA-accredited organizations in the world: the independent Council ranked CHS as “Outstanding” in 86% of all 1,740 indicators evaluated. The remaining 14% earned a “Good” rating.

That is excellence in action.

So what does it all mean?

Accreditation signifies that CHS and all of our programs are delivered by trained team members, that children and families participate in decisions, that we provide services and solutions in safe and respectful environments, that privacy is protected, and that services are culturally competent and support positive outcomes.

Accreditation also confirms that CHS practices sound financial management, honors a high commitment to ethical practices and high-quality services, upholds systems of performance and quality improvement, focuses on efficient operations, and maintains a strong dedication to excellence and accountability.

This is the reflection of our 2,000 team members dedicated to doing good.
