The Athletic Mindset: Mental Health Training for Youth Athletic Trainers, Coaches and Mentors
In collaboration with Dr. Michael Milligan
Adolescents can reap many physical and mental benefits from sports participation. However recent events remind us that youth athletes experience the same internal and external challenges as their non-athlete peers. The following courses are designed to help individuals who work directly with adolescent athletes (e.g., trainers, coaches, mentors, counselors) recognize and respond to some of the most challenging stressors and behavioral health conditions they face:
- Adolescents and Substance Abuse
- Child Abuse, Neglect and Adolescent Athletes
- Grief, Loss and Adolescent Athletes
- Stress Management and Coping with Anxiety
- Youth Athletes and Suicide
Children’s Home Society of Florida (BOC AP#: P12102) is approved by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing education to Athletic Trainers (ATs).
