Children’s Home Society of Florida recently received $20,000 from Walt Disney World Resort through Disney Grants. The funds will be utilized by the organization’s Perinatal Program. Through peer groups and weekly lessons, the program provides training, support, baby supplies and wisdom to new moms and dads.

“We’re thrilled to receive additional resources for our Perinatal Program and are honored by Disney’s constant support,” said Tara Hormell, executive director of Children’s Home Society of Florida. “Disney’s support will allow us to further our reach as we work to break the cycle of abuse in more families throughout Central Florida and educate our community’s newest parents.”

Along with 120 other nonprofits and organizations throughout Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Lake and Polk counties, Children’s Home Society of Florida was granted by Disney and received a special “Mousecar” award. In all, more than $5.6 million in Disney Grants will be awarded in support of efforts to positively impact the lives of over 300,000 local children and their families.
