Who can join Project 18?
Homeless or runaway teens or teens in foster care approaching their 18th birthdays.
What is it?
It's a program to help teens learn to live on their own and take steps to pursue fulfilling careers and self-sufficient, meaningful lives.
How can it help me?
The after-school program focuses on you, your goals and your future. You'll have opportunities to learn and explore new interests, from broadcasting to cooking, and you'll meet successful business people in the community who can provide advice and guidance to help you reach your goals.
You can also connect with a job coach who can help you find your special talents and interests, create a resume' and complete job applications, and pursue educational and career opportunities to help you achieve personal goals.
We'll also help you with life's daily responsibilities, from living within a budget to cooking, grocery shopping, finding a safe place to live and more.
And if you're struggling with an addiction or finding it tough to resist temptation, we can help.
Why should I participate?
Life's tough. It's especially tough when you turn 18 and have to leave foster care to begin life on your own. Project 18 helps prepare you for that day by opening doors to educational and career opportunities, connecting you with adults committed to your success, and providing guidance as you begin the next journey in your life.
