What is a good sample size?
A two- to three-bite sample per each patron is recommended. You should have enough food for at least 1,500 people to last two and a half hours. Look at the photos above for examples of sample sizes.

When can I get in to set up and how long do I have?
The mall will close at 5 p.m., and at that time you will have access to the loading docks to bring in your equipment. You will have one hour to decorate your booth before a photographer begins taking photos. The first patrons will arrive at 6:45 p.m. with our VIP guests. At 7 p.m., the general admission guests will arrive.

How many staff can I bring?
You can have a maximum of four staff members attend the event. Each restaurant will receive four wristbands. If you require more staff members, you may purchase additional wristbands for $30 each.

What kind of food is best to serve?
It is recommended you serve your restaurant's signature dish(es). Remember, this is an event for foodies and the perfect event to introduce your restaurant to new customers, so you'll want to give them your best!

Can I cook on site?
Yes, however, keep in mind each restaurant can only use two electrical appliances due to the limited number of electrical outlets in the mall. You may also bring butane fuel.

Who attends Caring Chefs?
The crowd at Caring Chefs is diverse and has many age groups. It does trend on the younger side, however, one thing you can be sure of is everyone who attends loves good food. More than 2,100 people came to last year's event to sample some of the best food Northeast Florida had to offer.

Is there a cost for me to be a part of Caring Chefs?
No. We consider your food, time and paper products to be a donation.

Will I have a contact person to answer my questions?
Yes. Contact Eric Scott, Caring Chefs Event Coordinator, at (904) 493-7739 or via email at eric.scott@chsfl.org with any questions you may have about the event and Children's Home Society of Florida. There will also be several staff members on site to answer your questions.
