Children’s Home Society of Florida receives grant from the Salah Foundation

April 1, 2014 (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) – Children’s Home Society of Florida received a generous grant from the Salah Foundation to help support vulnerable children in Broward County.  The grant will allow Children’s Home Society of Florida to continue to protect more kids from the tragedies of abuse and neglect, heal the pain of those who have suffered, and strengthen families in our community.

“We are grateful for the Salah Foundation’s donation to Children’s Home Society of Florida,” says Rebecca McGuire, Ph.D., Executive Director of Children’s Home Society of Florida in Broward County. “The donation, as well as the Salah Foundation’s ongoing support, is crucial to ensuring the needs of children in Broward County are met. We can continue to provide better futures for our community’s children and their families.”

The Salah Foundation selected Children’s Home Society of Florida as a recipient of its Board Challenge Grant. In addition to the challenge grant, the Salah Foundation made a commitment to help fund technology upgrades for Children’s Home Society of Florida’s counselors in order to better serve their clients.

Each year, Children’s Home Society of Florida helps nearly 1,000 children and family members in Broward County.

The Salah Foundation is a private foundation that supports non-profit organizations in the United States that strengthen families and communities and advances individuals to become productive and responsible citizens. There is a special interest in education, medical research, community development, and self-sufficiency programs aimed at the economically disadvantaged, the young, the elderly and the disabled.
