Current Opportunities
Cooks for Hacienda Girls Ranch:
Weekdays 4-6 p.m.: Cooks prepare items from a pre-determined menu. Minimum age requirement for cooking volunteers is 21, and we ask for an ongoing commitment. Volunteers must complete orientation and background check ($38.25). We also have meal preparation opportunities occasionally on Sundays for volunteers ages 16 and up with no background check or ongoing commitment required. TIme frames for Sunday opportunities are 8 a.m.- 2 p.m.
Administrative Support:
Volunteers could help in Rockledge, Palm Bay, Titusville or Melbourne for any number of hours. Four of our programs need assistance in this area. Consistent weekday availability (could be just a few hours) would be great for these positions. Volunteers are required to complete a background check ($38.25) and an orientation.
Translators for Healthy Start:
These volunteers would be a part of a phone list. Volunteers may be called into the office to help with translation by phone or case managers may schedule appointments with clients around translators' schedules. Volunteers are required to complete a background check ($38.25) and an orientation.
Donation Support:
We need someone to come in once a week to our Melbourne offices for an hour or so to help us sort incoming donations so case managers can easily find items that match the needs of their clients. Volunteers are required to complete a background check ($38.25) and an orientation.
Transportation Support:
Volunteers may choose to be on a phone list for emergency transportation or commit to one or more days per week. Monday through Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 3 to 4 p.m. are constant needs at Hacienda for help with transportation. Currently, Tuesdays and Saturdays are the busiest days, and we would love some help! Volunteers are required to complete a background check ($38.25), driving check ($14) and an orientation.
Mentoring:
Make a difference in a child's life as a positive role model. We match mentors with the teenage girls who live at Hacienda based on interests and availability. There may be a wait list for this opportunity, and volunteers must be over 21. Volunteers are required to complete a background check ($38.25), driving check ($14) and an orientation.
